Film8 Joined the Largest Global Winter EV Test in History as the Global Producer
Sections of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Sweden Snow Rally track
From November to December 2024, the largest winter test for new energy vehicles (EVs) in history took place across three continents—Asia, North America, and Europe. Covering China's Heihe, Alaska in the U.S., and Umeå in Sweden, the test spanned latitudes 50°, 60°, and 70°, pushing EVs to their limits in extreme cold conditions.

With nearly 40 automotive brands and 90+ popular models participating, the test evaluated key aspects such as daily usability, active safety, extreme endurance, and rally timing, totaling an incredible 100,000 km of testing mileage.
The 2024 Dcar Winter Test not only focused on the latest technologies and products but also carefully matched the tested vehicles with extreme environments worldwide. This approach aimed to showcase performance differences to consumers while documenting and witnessing the advancement of Chinese new energy vehicles from the platform’s perspective. The test covered nearly 50 vehicles in China, around 30 in Sweden, and over 10 in the U.S.

According to reports, Heihe served as the domestic main testing site, where vehicles underwent active safety, range, and charging tests in everyday winter conditions. In Alaska, U.S., over 10 Chinese hybrid and new energy vehicles were pushed to their limits, traversing permafrost, mountains, polar landscapes, and blizzard conditions for extreme endurance testing.
Meanwhile, in Umeå, Sweden, Dcar selected sections of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Sweden Snow Rally track to conduct rally time trials and other performance evaluations under extreme ice and snow conditions.
We recognize that every opportunity is a chance to learn, grow, and refine our craft. This project was not only a milestone for us but also a humbling reminder of the dedication and collaboration required to bring innovation to life. We’re grateful for the trust placed in us and excited for what’s ahead!
